Ping is measured in milliseconds (ms). When determining the state of your high-speed internet connection, the ping serves as a test for qualitative evaluation of the connection’s performance. It will test your internet connection by transmitting a signal to its target destination. When there is availability, it will validate with an answer back from testing servers, and the time it takes to acquire a response will be used as a measurement. Every website you visit has its load time and is affected by several factors, including ping. The ping rate indicates that your connection is experiencing delays of several milliseconds for each request sent or received.

● Jitter: Jitter measures the fluctuations in the speeds at which a stream of data is sent. A high jitter score can affect streaming and video calls, making them look and sound choppy or glitchy. Jitter is measured in milliseconds (ms). Data packets’ transit delay between your device and their destination host is called a jitter. Suppose you’re experiencing a packet delay of 50 milliseconds (0.05 seconds) or more. In that case, your internet connection likely has a poor signal, such as those found in 3G, 4G, LTE, or Edge coverage zones, most of which are located within buildings.
